Introduction
--------------
Send Express is low-cost software that lets you send files/folders, personal notes, and clipboard selections between Macs connected to an AppleTalk compatible network - without a server! It’s ideal for schools, small offices, and work groups in larger businesses that want sophisticated file transfer and easy e-mail capabilities without the complexity and cost normally associated with e-mail packages. Send Express is a desk accessory that is easy to install and use, and provides a level of versatility not found in System 7 or other third party products. Some key features of Send Express include the ability to:
• send files, folders, notes, and clipboard selections between Macs
• send notes up to 2500 characters, equivalent to a two page memo
• send files while you continue to work on your Mac
• install and learn Send Express in minutes
This demonstration copy of Send Express lets you send up to fifteen files/folders, notes, or clipboard selections before it expires and will no longer work.

Send Express Requirements
------------------------
Send Express requires:
- An AppleTalk compatible network of two or more Macintosh computers (Mac Plus or later).
- The Macs must be using System 6.0.2 or later running Finder® or MultiFinder®, or using System 7.
- The Macs must have at least 1MB RAM.
Creating an Installation Disk
--------------------------
1) After opening (i.e. double-clicking) the Send Express Disk.sea file enclosure, a folder entitled Send Express Disk will have been extracted.
2) Get a blank floppy disk and copy all of the files and folders within the Send Express Disk folder to the floppy disk.
3) Rename the floppy disk 'Send Express Disk'. You now have created a Send Express installation disk.
How to Connect your Macs Together
-----------------------------------------------
In order for Send Express to operate properly, you need to make sure your Macs are properly connected. Use the following guidelines to help make sure you’ve established the proper connections.
1) To use Send Express, your Macs must be connected to an AppleTalk compatible network (e.g. LocalTalk, PhoneNET). When connecting your Mac to the network, plug the network connector into your Mac’s printer port (the port below the picture of the printer).
2) Open the Chooser desk accessory and make sure AppleTalk is turned on.
Installation Instructions
----------------------
The installation process adds the Send Express desk accessory to your Apple Menu, and places a Startup document (i.e. INIT) and Help file in your System Folder. If you are installing on a Macintosh Plus, the AppleTalk file is also placed in your System Folder.
Installation:
1. Insert the Send Express demo disk into a disk drive.
2. Double-click on the “Installer” application to open it.
3. Choose the disk that contains the System Folder on which you want to install Send Express.
4. Click the Install button to install Send Express on the selected disk.
5. Restart your Macintosh to activate the newly installed Send Express software.
General Operation:
1. To use Send Express select the desk accessory “Send Express.” This brings up the Send Express window and menu. The window allows you to send files, notes and clipboards to other Send Express users on your network.
2. Located in the Send Express menu is the “Help...” command. Choosing “Help...” displays a dialog box containing brief instructions on how to send and receive files, notes and clipboards. Use this dialog box to learn more on how to use Send Express.

Send Express is available in 3-user packs and zone-packs. One zone-pack can support an unlimited number of users in a single AppleTalk zone. This means that one zone-pack can outfit an entire classroom, office, or work group. The Send Express zone-pack retails for $179 (US) per package, and the 3-user pack retails for $79 (US). Any number of packages can be combined to support an unlimited number of users.
